Setting up a Running Club

Anyone have any information or tips on how to go setting up a running club? What are the costs for a club wanted to be affiliated with Athletics Ireland?

I've tried emailing Athletics Ireland but haven't heard anything back from them?

I'm thinking first of going with just getting a group of people together who are interested in running and then take it from there. But it would be good to have an idea if Athletics Ireland can or provide any structure on this.

What part of the country and you in Vigos??
your best bet is to just start a running club. You'll only need AAI affliation if you want to run in inter club competitions. If you have some interested runners you should think about entering them in the county novice cross country races.

I'm in Athlone. I guess we could always join Mullingar if we wanted to run in the AAI races.

Do you need to be a member of an AAI club to run in the county novice cross country races?
