Thanks chity ,any hints at all for photoshop??

I think it's the perfect shot to mess around with photoshop to get different effects. I haven't been using it at all really ,just for sat and cropping.

Cheers Elven ,I was really getting into one of those "Why did I buy this camera moods" and then hey presto along comes the rainbow and the bird.

adunno - maybe diddle the colour balance to make the sky a bit more electric blue- (if thats the name for the shade of blue I am thinking of) ?

Check out some of Dimy's festival of the sea shots for a great shade of sky blue.

Cant really think of anything else.

**This is the colour of sky I am thinking of :

(CHITY) Will give it a go ,I have a feeling the rainbow and bird will die in the process.
I'll try seperating them and upping the sky .

(ELVEN) No it's a raw file ,I really only took the photo about 2 hours ago and just upped the saturation and cropped a little

    Nice one.

    Brian.

works well as it is imo.. Doesn't need any further work.

    Thanks rymus ,
I just presumed with all the critique and stuff ,that photoshop is an essential part of the process.

It's becoming more and more obvious that feet are the most essential part of photography.:)

    Thanks

    Brian.

If this was an IRC channel, I'd set that to the topic ;)

Sun rays travel through the center of the rainbows.
The shodows don't seem to point in that direction.
Are you sure the shot isn't tweeked?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,332 ✭✭✭311

No matt ,just small adjustments in the raw pre edit on photoshop elements
and then I cropped it .

The shot was taken with a 70-200 F4 at 70 ,so I was quite a bit away from it.
It was nearly 20.45 so the sun was actually to the right of the shot.

note: that the direction i that the sunlight travels is pependicular to the plane of the rainbow.
If you're taking a picture of a rainbow, the sun must be in front of you or behind you.

Sorry if it's not a rainbow horse ,
What else could it be ,an oil spill or something or maybe the coming of the sacred leprechaun to collect his prize maybe.

I thought it looked cool ,so i took a photo ,if it's offensive then spell it out.

    Hehehe...

The sun was behind and slightly to the right, from the looks of things. I don't know where you're trying to go with this, matt...
