Hi, I have an AIB atm card. It doesnt have a "Cirrus" stamp but does have a "plus" stamp. Does anyone know if this will work in Crete?

Cards marked with a Plus symbol should work in any ATM marked Plus, or with a Visa symbol.

Cirrus, Plus, (sometimes Link) or Maestro are on most machines. Your card should be fine, Id be very suprised if you didnt have any of those symbols on it. Good luck :)

Simular Question so i will post here. I got a new ATM card which is a Maerstro from AIB I used to have an old atm card which had plus on it. I am travelling to Canada in September and emailed a bank over there to see if they take Maestro they dont. I used to have a AIB card with plus on it and it worked do these new ATM cards still have the plus facility on them?

Does the back have any other symbol on them? Maestro cards should work in any machine with Cirrus/Maestro/Mastercard branding though.

it only has a link symbol as on the back link is a network in the UK. I dont think Maestro works in ATMs that accept Mastercard. I think they have to have the plus symbol on them.HAs anbody used a Maestro in Canada or the USA?

I dont think Maestro works in ATMs that accept Mastercard

Cirrus/Maestro/Mastercard are all Mastercard products and therefore should operate on ATM's that accept Mastercard.
I think they have to have the plus symbol on them

Plus is the Visa equivelant of "Cirrus". Therefore one with a Plus symbol will work in ATM's that accept Visa.

The simple solution to your query is to contact your branch or AIB 24 Hour Banking if you're not sure.

There are also foreign exchange charges for using the card outside of the euro area. You can call aib on 1850 724 724
