Got my braces off at 16, had one or two checkups since. Probably been at least 5 years since I've seen a dentist. No problems here...

I go annually now because I left a gap of severals years in the past. I thought as I brushed and flossed religiously and didn't have any pain or visible problems I was fine, but when I had a check up soon after I quit smoking I was told I'd suffered bone loss due to gum disease  Since then I get them cleaned by the hygienist regularly.
