You can say the same about any religion. Religion is just a collective belief, if a number of people choose to call that belief Jedi then it should be recognised. You can't beat someone into believing what you want them to believe or changing faith simply because it suits your world point of view.

people put jedi down as a joke, not because obi wan kenobi died for their sins or luke skywalker saved them and taught them how to hold a light saber.

Hey, don't have a go at the Jedi beliefs unless you're gonna use exactly the same judgements on such paragons of religious tradition and sanctity as, Pastafarianism, for instance.

Indeed you could and I wouldn't disrespect your right to believe that. Personally I think believing in the Bible is a joke, and Obi Wan Kenobi may as well have died for our sins as much as Jesus Christ. Read Josephus and he states quite clearly that Jesus of Nazareth was only one of numerous Messiahs running around and preaching at the time.

Whatever reason people write down Jedi in the religion space is up to the them, it is not for you or anyone to judge them.

I live at home and my mam didn't put me down god knows why, she just doesn't trust the authorities

find me some proof that people actually follow the teachings of the jedi and i'll take my statement back.
otherwise it's just a bunch of star wars nerds trying to be rebels, and not in the fighting the dark side type of way.

in fairness man how many people but down roman catholic and use condoms every night? half the country doesnt go to mass anymore but i confidently reckon the census will say were still a majority catholic counrty:D

(that said id love to see someone out side a night club going to the bouncer in full alex "you dont need to see my id,im obviously 18". " we may go inside"

P.S was listening to matt cooper today and apparently 300 thousand of the forms havet been sent in yet. theyre now asking people to post em in if they havent been collected

Exactly, people believe whenever it suits and in whatever gets them some dainty afterlife. Confession ftw tbh.

MORE than 300,000 homes across the country will not be included in the latest census - because there was no-one at home.

Enumerators delivering and collecting the census forms were unable to contact the inhabitants.

Following inquiries among neighbours, postmen and women and apartment block management companies, the vast majority of those dwellings - some 275,000 - were identified as being vacant.

In a further 30,000 cases, there was nobody at home when census officials called on various occasions.

Almost two months after the census forms were filled in, 1.5 million forms have been completed and collected, according to the Central Statistics Office (CSO).

But those who have not had their forms collected still have time to get them in and be counted.

The laborious processing operation is now underway, compiling data such as how many rooms there are in our houses, types of household, job descriptions and the distance of our journey to work.

The CSO sent out some 1.8 million forms to addresses around the country in April.

During this process, an army of more than 4,400 enumerators pounded the pavements the length and breadth of the state, delivering the forms to homes and then collecting them a month later.

Their task finally ended on May 22.

Householders whose forms have not been collected are asked to post the completed document to Central Statistics Office, PO Box 2006, Freepost 3985, Swords, Co Dublin.

The CSO will now spend the next six months processing the forms, and a spokesperson assured those who have yet to post in their form that it will still be included.

While the definitive population results will not be made known until next year, preliminary figures, setting out the number of males and females in each electoral division, will be published on July 19 next.

These preliminary figures are based on population summaries prepared by enumerators.
