Am currently in the process of building up a portfolio and am not interested in choosing individual stocks myself. I have some some mutual funds purchased with Rabo but I am thinking of going down the ETF route (probably with a couple of ishares ones) anybody aware of any pitfalls

ETF's are more liquid, are easier to trade.

When you trade them, you pay the spread and or commissions, similar to buying ordinary shares.
There are no fees for selling your shares, which you may face in your mutual funds.
