    Hey all,

I play a Taylor acoustic but I'm thinking of getting a cheapish 2nd guitar.

I'm thinking of getting an Ovation MOB or Celbrity Deluxe??

Any opinions.....I'm hearing good and bad about Ovations!!

Well they sound bad as an acoustic guitar in the traditional sense, but they are extremely comfortable to play and sound pretty good plugged in, they're a live guitar in my opinion. Check out chrisguitars.com for some nice secondhand ovation bargains

Well the high end ovations are fantastic but most people will never get a chance to play them as you dont see them often. The lower end ones ie cheap ones arent very nice imo. The better ones do have a really good live sound. Though I'd be more tempted by a nice takamine for a cheapish second hand with a good live sound. Or sell the taylor combine the money and order yourself a nice McIlroy ;)

Bleah. I've played Applauses, Celebritys, and higher-end Ovations, and I can't stand the roundbacks. Hard to hold, and they all sound metallic and thin. :p

How about that? Its about a grand from thomann. Not sure about importing fees but it might work out a good deal. Its only $500

Takamine doesn't look bad at all. I'm going to the states in a few weeks time so I'm planning on buying it over there!!

I might try to save up and up the budget a bit and get a Gibson J-180EC http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Gibson-J180EC-Special-AcousticElectric-Guitar?sku=517175&src=3SOSWXXA
