{Request} Buying glasses online

    My current pair of glasses have been stood on one too many times so I need to buy a new pair. I dont really fancy spending €150 - €200 in either Specsavers or Vision Express.
    Has anyone had any experience of buying frames/lenses on-line?
    If so, how much of a saving is there?
    and did you have any problems ordering?

    I had to replace mine lately, when asked about the cost it was almost 500 YoYo for what I wanted. I replaced them while in the US on holidays for little over 300 in Walmart.
    I purchase my contacts from Sweden saving 15 per months compared to local places for same product.
    Only problem with lenses and glasses are the fitting, you can mail or fax your prescription and details of what you want but it could swing either way, useless or a major saving. Look towards NI for comparisions or a UK online.

    This site sells prescription glasses online, the cheapest are STG £15: http://www.glassesdirect.co.uk/

    You need to have a prescription from a registered optician but I think you can get an eye test fairly cheaply at off-peak times. I have never used this site myself so I can't vouch for it.
