    hi,

i have no spare tvs but 2 spare monitors and was wondering has anyone ever connected a ps2 or a dreamcast to a monitor.i have done some homework on it and it looks like the ps2 needs an external breakout box for the ps2 like this:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000YTYIU/104-1789643-1107909?v=glance&n=468642

however it looks like im gonna have to solder the dreamcast pinouts.

anyone with any experience with this?

    thanks

you're looking for a vga box or some such

    I use a vd-z3 with my xbox, 480p/720p

    Slightly On-Topic:
The XBox motherboard has a VGA header. Apparently it works, anyone know of any successful reports? In-depth detail of the signal generated would be a bonus. Have a header, ribbon-cable and a soldering iron here.

Erm... why are you modifying the DC for VGA output exactly? It natively support VGA and can be connected to a PC monitor using something like this:

    http://cgi.ebay.ie/DREAMCAST-VGA-BOX_W0QQitemZ104753198300QQcategoryZ4303QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

They were quite common peripherals back in the day.

If there's a 15-pin VGA header on the board and the signal is 'normal' VGA, it means buying a component for a euro or two, cutting a hole (if needed/desired) and plugging in the cable. No need to buy anything off eBay.

But as he seems to want to be able to use a PSX2 on the monitor too, he'd probably be better off going for a SCART-VGA adapter (something like this perhaps).

Im also interested, syspak: if you try out the vga built in to the xbox and it works, I will follow in pursuit;)

There are VGA hacks and things in the Xecuter3 bios and UnleashX, I'll read up on the guide again.
