Hi, I have been messing around with 3dsmax for a while and I know my way around the UI..........

I have been watching the 3D buzz tutorials and im on Issue 2, they are fantastic and I have learned more in a few hours from them, than weeks of reading other tutorials...........

Is there anywhere else i can get tuition? I dont mind paying for tutorials if they will help me alot....

And does anyone have any general tips or recomendations?

    Thanks:)

P.s Is 3dsmax used a lot in the film industry? or is it used mostly for games?

Thanks man, they look good :)

Im looking for training modules like the 3d Buzz ones.....rather than a specific tutorial like "how to make an explosion" if you know what i mean...

Most tutorials I find assume that you have a very good understanding of max, and I dont:(

    Hey Man,
I know what you mean. I was in the same boat, it's a really mammoth program to learn. I bought some of this stuff, and it's really good. It ranges from Beginner to advanced:

Another option is to get some private tuition, I did and it helped me loads.

Chances are you won't use half of whats in there. What are you planning on doing with it?

I want to learn it all!!!!!!

But I am interested in modelling and Special effects and anything that can be used in film........

So where else can I absorb some knowledge:D

Oh, and should I learn photoshop too?:D

    I feel like such a n00b:o

I think it would deffo help you out if you were to learn photoshop.
You could make the most amazing scene... but without good textures
it won't look half as good as it could.

These are also very good tutorials, I think more along the lines your looking for.

You need to get a general overview, then check out some image manipulation and texturing tutes.

Lynda.com also does some decent P. Shop stuff.
