Optimum Lay?

    I know it's not horse related but you guys would be best posed to answer this question.

    I backed Crespo to be top goalscorer before the tournament start at 26's. He's now gone into 9.6.

    I could lay Crespo now to guarantee me a profit now but how do I work out what the optimum lay amount would be to get maximum profit?

    I assume there's a formula for this?

    Not sure what stake you used, but lets assume it was €10 and your commission is 5% :

    Lay it @ 9.6 for €27.23 to guarantee yourself €15.86 no matter what happens.

    The only thing....... if he does end up top scorer, assuming you used a tenner, will you be happy with €15.86, when your potential profit is now €250?

    Another option would be to lay him using the same stake as you backed him with, thus giving you a free bet.
