I got one from PC World this morning for 749 Euro: Advent 7076

    Amd Sempron 3000
    1gig of Ram
    128mb ati xpress integrated gfx
    15.4 wxga screen
    dvd -/+ rewriter

Not bad at all.....they are selling out really fast though, you should definately consider one.

It's not for me, im quite happy with my laptop. Was there anything cheaper there to im not sure she'd pay over 700, i'd say she sooner spend 5 than 700 tbh.

Well if she wants it solely for what you've described, net browsing, music, whatever, I'd go with the cheapest dell 1300 (about 500) or with the cheapest model in pc world (again about 500).

No point paying for what she won't need. She definately will not notice any difference with a Celeron cpu doing those tasks.
