I'm looking for a new LCD screen to replace my 21" Sony Trinitron (i'm afraid one of these days it will fall on me and kill me). Price is going to be a factor so I'm looking at both 19 and 20in ones, best screen I can get for the best money really up to about €450 including VAT. I missed that recent Dell offer which is a pity.

Anyone want to recommend some to me?

I've gone through the Komplett site looking for screens and they all sound good but how to distinguish one is really better than the others. I suppose user recommendations are the best way.

Possibly on the limit of your budget but I myself have been in the market for a 20" wide screen display I have read very positive reviews of the Viewsonic VX2025 which I'm about to buy. It is a great gaming display and pretty good for other general purpose activities according to the reviews, OcUK sell them for €446.

The viewsonic gets great reviews on overclockers, though a lot of people complain about backlight bleed. Having seen screens (granted, you need to view it in person) I cant really say that the backlight issue would bother most people, unless you're some kind of photo nut :)

The Dell 2007 FPW is good for about 660 euro incl VAT and delivery, although there is some issue regarding banding using the DVI connection (colour gradients appear in finite blocks, not a smooth transition). Once again, having seen screen shots I cant complain and was thinking about the 2407 for myself.

Belinea, BenQ, NEC, Dell and Viewsonic all make really good packages, it all comes down to price and features i guess and whether or not backlight/banding issues will drive you to rant.

My Samsung 940BF was delivered today.
No dead or stuck pixel whatsoever.
Very fast, excellent for gaming and videos (that's what I do mostly)
I like the colors, and I'm still fidling with the best brightness and contrast settings,as I'm used to the CRTs :)

The only negative thing is the stand comes with the 940BF isn't height adjustable (I had to put two phonedirectories under the LCD).

    So I'm statisfied with it.

    I have the Philips 200W6 20inch widescreen.
Maybe I'm biased but its a lovely screen....and still on PC Pro's A-List after three months.
