    Hi everyone,

Hope you can help me with the following.
I'm about to start building and extension, my problem is that there is this telephone pole who would, if let in this spot, be right in my kitchen!! I'd like to get it removed, but am not quite sure which way to go ? Is it gonna be easy enough having eircom remove it ?
Many thanks in advance for all your suggestions.
    Cheers

    Moona

I would suggest that you will have to talk to eircom - they will have to move it and change or run new cabling. If your close enough to another pole (outside your property) see if they can remove the pole altogether and just run the cable to a junction box on your house.

The words "easy" and "eircom" are very rearly used in the same sentence. As emul says give them a call as they will have to do it for you. Hope you are not in a hurry to get this done.

Do you know anyone who works for Eircom?

O Sorry, I used the term "works for Eircom". I'll rephrase, do you know any employed by Eircom. It might be worth contacting them rather than going through formal channels!

^ Ditto big time, go through the formal channels and you will be ripped off and left waiting 6 months or more. Go direct to the staff and save time and maybe some money too.

You could be talking big money to get that pole moved. They'll need a full gang and take hours to do it .

As has been said try the unofficial route!

Thanks guys !! I wasn't surprised by your answers !
If it takes ages, it will delay my extension works !! Might be easier to leave it here and build the extension around it !!

If you leave it there, you'll have the opportunity to do some pole-dancing as you cook the dinner! :D

Consaw out, grit teeth, call eircom say there's a wee accident.
