    hi,

im giving up on my haupauge card.
either shiite audio through the phono plugs or mono audio through the coax plug.

can someone recomend a decent non-haupauge card as i wont be buying any of their unsupported crap again :/

regarded as quite a good card, strange, I've one and audio is fine.

Have you got latest drivers etc. , for card, chipset, and sound card

i dont know why some people dont experience it.

its basically a buzzing noise in the background,
it gets worse for me after a short while.

the only workaround i came up with was to use the coaxial in.
this works fine except when i got my new surround system i found that the audio is mono only.

    http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/board/forumdisplay.php?f=51
have a read through the official hauppauge forum for plenty of examples.
hauppauge recently released an update for some card revisions which actually made mine worse.

now that ive got the new surround system the mono thing is freaking me out and the low quality is blatantly obvious to all that hear it.

    so, back on topic :D
    any recommendations.
ill give you my hauppauge card if you recommend a good one*
    i wont ;)

You could always try ATI's 550 Pro (not free of it's own issues but audio was never a problem for me) they are about to launch the successor the 650 as well.

    bulk is oem,
it will come unboxed and without drivers manuals leads or anythign else.
the retail will be boxed with accessories and so on.

as an update on this thread i got the hauppauge working after trying a few more workarounds.
im happy enough with the stereo sound, but the picture quality was better over rf......

whats your setup again subway? and are you using ffdshow.

I have the 150mce bulk, and it comes in plain box, but does have the radio antenna, the retail maybe has more cables and a remote, dunno

    setup is windows mce,
    running on
    512mb sdram,
    p4 1.8,
hauppauge 150 fed by ntl digital via composite cables
output to a projector onto a 7' screen and a logitech z5500 dts system

i ordered the "oem bulk" version from elara about 6 months ago for 80eu or so and received a retail version instead which i was quite happy with :)
the retail box has a driver and software cd, a remote w/ batteries, usb receiver, 2 ir blasters, manual and various cables for connecting it up.
