I get cut off from digiweb connection every so often! the ppp light on my router goes off and will stay off for differnt lengths of time could be 5 mins, could be 5 hrs!! does this happen to anyone else, is it my connection or is the problem with digiweb themselves??

When you get cut off have you tried just pulling the power cord out of the modem and back in again. Thats what i do n the net comes back again.

ok mate this is my story...lol

Ive got wireless bb at home, aparently its a 6MB line. Its from this bb company from wexford. The shop that supplied the equipment is CTEK in my hometown. My connection cuts out whenever it wants to, its like it has its own mind.

This is what ive done to make sure the net is working. Ive created a small batch file that pings a website and loups it, i write it out for you. So ill know if the net is working coz i get replies from the server and if i dont i know the net isnt working.

Batch File ( im presumming you know where to make them )

    cls

    ping www.google.com
    goto top

Save it and call it whatever you want, make sure the ext. is .bat

    ex.

    batchfile.bat

To run the batch file go to -->Start-->Run-->type cmd-->type batchfile.bat or whatever you called it.

Try that anyway mate, thats all I can offer, dont know alot but its better than nothing.

    Cheers

Or you could just type ping www.google.com -t ;)

Anyway if you're connection/ppp light is out on your dsl modem you can ping till ur blue in the face and it won't do anything.

Try power cycling like tom_ass19 said. Have you contacted digiweb?

aye but it takes like 10seconds to create the batch file n it keeps pinging it and you can see the different response times rather than keeping going into console n doing...ive my ping batch file on my startup so it runs all day....

my line does the exact same as your batch. Trust me. ;)

And why run it all day? Bit pointless if you ask me.
