Number Plates

Anyone know of a place that makes bike number plates, on the spot, and of a decent quality (either pressed metal or that heavy-duty laminated plastic)? The place would have to be in or very close to Dublin city centre (as I want to try and get it done during lunchtime). Also, would a Dublin provider be able to make a plate for another county, in this case Kildare, or are there only specific templates available for each county?
You wouldn't believe how much of a pain in the ass it is to try and get this done in one go, i.e. without having to get a shop to send away for the plate. :(

Thats a good one !!! €40 for a number plate

Halfords do them for €10 and they are really good quality. They just print them there for you.

JEBUS!!! €40!!! I'd make my own out of cardboard before paying that.

Thanks for the Halfords tip. Just got the plate made and attached, so my transformation is complete. Well, almost.
Naturally, I wanted to get rid of the four yellow screws, and replace them with white ones. Halfords, however, only sell them in packs of four, where two are white, and two are yellow, a la UK reg plates for cars. So, now I have to get someone to supply the screws. Such a pain, for such a small part of the importing job.

my local motor factor presses up one on the spot for.....€10?? And it's bike-sized too.

You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Hello? Buy two packs then! How much are they anyway?

Yes, you could buy two packs and give Halfords a hearty pat on the back for selling items not intended for this market, but I'd rather buy the four whites from somewhere else. The guy at the counter didn't know how much they were. He just pointed to the woman on the till, on the other side of the shop.
Ah, surely they won't be that hard to find (fingers crossed). I'll just go to some other motor factors on the way home.
