    Hi guys.

Im sure this has been answered before but I cant find it. Ill ust shoot ahead:

I dont have a credit card, Im pretty broke. I have paypal and an AIB bank account with online banking. I also have that 3v fake credit card thing.

Is neteller the best option for me for online poker?

Is it true that theres pretty much no way of playing poker with my paypal money other than just putting it in my bank and from there to elsewhere?

So with Neteller - can I transfer money from AIB online?
Theres not really much detailed info on the Neteller site.

Im thinking maybe the best thing I can do is register with Neteller and top it up with a 3v voucher??

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi,

Yes when you set up your neteller account, you can bankwire money from your bank account to your neteller account, you have to go into the bank to do this.Yes neteller would be the best option as you can easly transfer money from site to site.Dont think you can transfer money from your online bank acc to neteller.

As Brendy says you can transfer it via a bank wire at your branch. This recent thread has a bit more detail/discussion on it.

    thanks guys. very much appreciated.

I set up a Neteller account. The whole process was completely weird IMO.

I guess Ill just go into my bank and wire neteller. Thats fine anyways, I have some other things to do in there soon, Ill hit 2 birds with one stone.

Im hoping to be able to put a small amount in and sustain it, but I fear competition will be far more fierce for real money than the play money!

You can always lodge cash into your poker acc with a bookies who have a poker site and neteller(i.e ladbrokes) then withdraw into your neteller acc.

This will work but on most sites you will have to make a neteller deposit before you can make a withdraw into your neteller acc.

    Why the long way around?

Walk into your local Ladbrokes office with a valid photo-ID and simply deposit cash! And yes, you can withdraw the same way. Note that you need to transfer online between your bookies account (euro) and your poker account (US$), but in the end this method is worries free as you need absolutely nothing...well...you need the cash. ;)

In case he wants to play anywhere other than ladbrokes. Anyways, seems he is using a bank wire anyhow so no issue.

Betfair poker will accept Paypal if that's any help.

They also accept straight bank transfers.

Is there any big reason why you can't get a credit card?
Most banks are happy to give you a credit card if the limit is relatively low.

    Thanks again lads.

I forgot to mention Im on a mac so its java poker only for me for the time being unfortunatly.
This means Ill most likely be sticking to http://www.pokerroom.com

I might be getting a new dual boot mac in a couple of weeks so that would open more doors for things like betfair and ladbrooks.

ˇLafortezza I have many reasons for not getting a credit card which I wont go into:p

I just got an email off neteller askin me to phone them about my bank details. I guess Ill just get that sorted and wire a few quid to neteller, then get stuck in to some poker on pokerroom.com.

Ill tell ya one thing, Ill be practicing for a while before I play for real money. I played online last night [play money] for the first time in about 2 months, and mostly got my ass kicked. I find I get rusty if Im not playing regulary.

    Cheers again folks.
