I just downloaded Adware I done a scan found about 300 or so  bad files or whatever went to delete them now I cant play any of video files or music files? :(

    My whole sound is gone.

It says Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there might be a problem with your sound or video device. Try installing an updated device driver.

    If i dwonloaded this http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=4d19cdb1-99e8-4bc5-9a39-ff162238a6dc&DisplayLang=en
would that help or make things worse? Dont know anything about drivers

Sounds like one of the corrupted file s was a driver of system file used to by you media player. Try reloading the player.

If its Windows media player go to ad remove programs -> ad remove windows components -> Windows media player. Uncheck it and finish the uninstall and they go back inand click and this will re install.

If its another player go to add remove, remove it ad use you software cd to reload it.

Does your pc play any media like music or even make sounds like when you move the volume bar up and down???

Im a retart I know but I deleted a driver.

I downloaded one last week it was huge a nob head told me to do it then when I went to install in came up warning so I didnt install I deleted the driver because the driver I downloaded was huge so I wanted the space back.

If I download the driver above will that do the trick?

It wont play on windows media or realplayer nothing.

    C00D11D1: Cannot play the file
Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there might be a problem with the sound or video device, such as a sound or video card.

Your sound or video device might require an updated driver. To determine if an updated driver is available, see the Windows Update page at the Windows Update Web page at the Microsoft Web site, or see the sound or video device manufacturer's Web site.

find out the make of your video and sound card. and go to the companys website and install the newest drivers. To make it simple there is a program called " driverwizard " i think thats what its called, not sure if its free anymore. But what it basically does isscans all your hardware that needs drivers, and even some software and will automatically update them for you. you other option is to do a system restore. To do this:

Start > all programs > accessories > system tools > system restore. and go back to a point before you installed adaware and click okay/next.

    Hope this helps

u mean in relation to audio i hope !!.

What type of PC do u have ?, and what version of windows u got v?..
Some manufacturers put a drivers directory on the root, maybe called drivers or resources or something.......

    Nothing in device Manager!

    Fujitsu Siemens
    Windows XPS2

Nothing in device manager ? ... thats a first !. Is everything else ok ?.. just audio the problem ?...

U need to go onto the Fujitsu site and download what drivers u need, or sometimes windows update will sort it out.....

Sounds a bit dodge though if there isnt anything in device manager ... as in one sense that is the "honey pot " (GUI wise anyway ) ,
If i were u id just back up what i need somewhere and simply wipe the PC and throw a fresh build on it u would kill a few birds with one stone going down this route, however by the sounds of it u yourself would only wanna do this as a last resort ?

I went to the website had to put the number of my computer in, downloaded the driver still nothing!

k well thats a start if u have downloaded driver... but u gotta be more specific.. as asked already ...is it just the audio drivers u downloaded ?. Could talk u through installing best i could, as im sure others here 2 would , however it would be faster 4 u to see if there is a read me file / help file with what u downloaded ?
