    Hey guys,

I've been reading posts fairly regularly here but this is the first hand I'm posting. This is from a freeroll MTT, 2300 out of 9000 left, average stack was around 8000 at that point, I had 12000. As u can c I bet 2.5 times BB on JJ (comments?). I was a bit tentative as both guys left in had me covered and I'd only lost money since I'd been moved to that table. Flop comes [ 5s, 7h, 4s ] but I still (eventually) decide to push, in spite of reraises. I ran this thrugh a poker calc and it came up with 54% win % for my hand after flop (other players had 6 6 and 10 10). Could you please give me advice on whether the push was correct in the situation.

Thx guys I'm new to posting hands so I've probably rambled a lot :D

Maybe raise a bit more pre-flop, and bet a bit less on the flop. You've put half your stack in on the flop, leaving yourself with 10BBs, so you're definately pot-commited. If you bet less on the flop, you can then maybe decide to get out to any serious action after you, but seeing as it's a freeroll JJ is probably good here a lot of the time. The all-in call is fine as it plays out.

TBH, I wouldn't even class it as a bad beat, the winner had a pair and an open-ended straight draw which is a decent holding here.

Well, I was actually afraid of just picking up the blinds if I raised any more, as there were quite a few AFKers (4-5 I think). On the other hand, those people who did stay in this hand had played very aggressively up till then.

Fair enough, there's nothing wrong with that thinking, although JJ is a bit more vulnerable than the higher pairs so just picking up the blinds isn't a total disaster.
