How do I do a forced upgrade on a sky box

    Hi,
    I got an old sky digibox from a friend, it has an old epg, I've seen here before that you can do a forced upgrade on them.
    How do I do this?

    if there is a viewing card remove it

    power down the digibox

    hold the back up button on the front of the box (not the remote), power up the box with the button pressed for about 10 - 20 seconds until the lights start changing

    when all lights turn on leave go of backup

    the download will continue and then the box will reboot at the end of it

    can take about 10 minutes

    Use the mains plug to power off /on for this. The Power Button really just mutes the AV and turns of the RF modulator. The box is really still 100% running.

    You might need an assistant to plug the mains in while you hold the buttons!
