Quick question about Tournament reg

Alot of tournaments that people post about on the tournament forum advertise as "100% Payout! 100 euro freezeout!" and then in the main body of the post they list a 10euro registration fee.

And similar for rebuy tournaments "50euro, 1 rebuy and 1 topup, 100% prize pool PAYOUT!!!1", and you read the full post and you find out that you're also paying 5euro reg on each rebuy and topup so essentially it's a 150+15 tournament.

Do people think this is cunning marketing and all's fair in tournament pricing?
Or is this hidden costs that should be clearer? If you call it a 100euro freezeout should each customer be paying 100euro?

I think its fair enough in that they mean that theres no CPT style guarantee that is capped but that they are obviously charging a reg.

But I obviously voted for Rosicky.

I know I've brought this up before but I think tournament organisers should have to be clear what is going on. Particularly the "100% payout" lark should be stopped for tournaments that clearly don't pay out 100%, to protect the occasional event where there really is 100% payout (SE, Vegas Nights, maybe others have run them I believe).

The 100% prizepool thing is an annoying scam but I'm more annoyed that utd didnt buy rosicky years ago like I wanted.

I voted buyer beware. I think players can get too fussy about these things tbh. Most of us would know that 100% payout does not refer to the reg. fee.

The poll doesn't give clear enough options for me to vote. (Or maybe I'm not that smart to understand them.)

I do believe that 100% payout is a big hoax. The intentions may be good but its just bad style IMHO. Only Vegas Nights should use it since that really is 100% payout. For the others, rather leave "100% payout" out and put €100+€10 reg. fee on the poster. If they take a cut from the buyin and charge a reg. fee, I feel ripped off. Whether or not they use "100% payout" is irrelevant. Recently I found out that a well known casino does exactly this. I was like "wtf!?!? why are so many people gready? :("

For certain tournaments, in order to be sure they can cover the costs, they might use €100 buyin and a total fixed rake of €500. This way you know in advance that if there are 50 people its €90+€10 and with 100 people its €95+€5. Why lie saying "100% payout" and then take a cut anyways because of the bad turnout when there is a perfectly good solution?

And the Circus Poker Tour, they aren't just gready. They are thieves!

    Rosicky is definitely looking good.

Personally I have no problem with them being advertised as this if the reg fee is the only fee charged, even if it is charged on a rebuy/topup too. It is the ones that pay out a different percentage depending on the number of entries that I would tell people to be wary of.

Anyways, they are all thieves. (not really, but laf said we needed snide comments)
