I would assume I will need receivers in each room.

How can I utilise existing cabling for FTA and aerial provisioned channels?

It's quite possible that the cable used by your aerial is totally unsuitable for digital satellite signals. For satellite, you need CT100 cable or equivalent (copper core, copper braid over copper foil).
