Cutting Blocks to an angle

Anybody know the quickest way to cut paving stone at an angle?
Using a grinder seems very messy and time consuming, a cold chisel and lump wont be accurate enough. Any tips?

If you're looking for accuracy - you'll need to consume time & get messy.

hmm I think B&Q are sold out of the last batch of Laser Block vaporisers so I guess the old fashioned diamond blade and grinder will be the only way to go.
a good tip is to use a 12" grinder or Con Saw forget mickey mouse 4" grinders they won't last long with heavy use.

Laser block vaporiser?! Wow I think I'll head over to B+q and order one in..:)
Have a 9 inch bosch grinder but didnt know you can get diamond blades to fit, didnt want to use masonry discs cos theyre a disaster. Ill get someone to splash water on the bocks as I cut I spose. Thanks lads!:)

    Hi,

You can get diamond discs for the 9" even for the 4", take care if you are going to splash water beside a working electric tool.

Don't forget a new set of goggles and a mask, could be the best €5.00 you ever spend ;)

I've seen a hyrdraulic press device for cutting pavers. It works on the cold chisel principal but leaves a very neat cut.

Stihl Consaw + Stihl Diamond Tip 12" (300mm) Stone/Masonry blade, cuts like butter. Blade costs about € 200 + VAT (ignore cheap spurious brands offering Diamond blades for € 90, pure crap.

S - Consaw will set you back about € 750, but unless you plan to do a lot of cutting, better to hire one, cost c € 90. Tip (sorry no pun) buy your own blade otherwise you can expect to pay € 50 hire charge for blade alone.

There are deals from time to time, eg current deal available from Makita (also a good product), buy 8 blades you get a free consaw.

Consaws require steady hand and some practise otherwise go for one of the mechanical suggestions.

I can hire ye a Stihl con saw and 200 euro diamond blade for 20 euros for the afternoon, but make sure you don't break it. Better still i'll do it for ye, but I charge 100 euros an hour.

Anytime i use a grinder and theres dust ,just throw water on it ,or get someone to throw water on it as you are cutting.

Judging by the thread ,it's probably done and dusted :D at this stage
