doesn't exactly obliterate the fx-62, but it's damn good anyway..

does this not seem a bit extreme for cooling down the thing?

i think it's nearly time to ditch the AMD XP 2500+ and upgrade to a brandspanking new conroe. I'll get my brother to pick one up from america when he goes over, if i can :p

Looks like a Gigabyte Rocket Cooler, just the angle makes it look bigger than it is.

So, when do the Duo processors become widely available? I was hoping to get my brother to pick one up when he's in the states in a months time. Also, what mobo's do they take? Could anyone recommend a good motherboard? Overclocking a little would be nice... :P

Offical date july the 9th, but chances of you getting one without paying through the ear for a month are slim and none.

Some of the 975x's are conroe compatible I would presume that they are going to bring out a whole new chipset though.

It says in the article that they are using an Intel 965 p.

I think I'll hold back for quad core cpus :P

They are rumored to be released in Q1 2007(Kentsfield) so that's not too much of waiting + ATI R600 is coming about the same time + Vista, and maybe DDR3? but that's probably not going to happen.
