Monitorig Heat

Is there anyway of monitoring the heat of my computer. I was thinking of adding in a new fan, but I am undecided yet until I see what heat there is first.

Software wise, there's Motherboard Monitor though it may depend on your mobo. I use it though sometimes think the sensors it uses are a bit ott.

Theres wee LCD monitors that fit into drive bays also, that come with sensor probes to stick in CPU, around HDD's etc.
