Croatia. Any recommendations?

    Hi,

    I'm at the early stages of planning my summer holidays. I have been thinking of Croatia for a while because I have heard it is great but am now looking for more information.

    The type of holiday I like is one where the night life is good but not Ibiza style. I Dont like major tourist areas. I like a place with lots of history and culture with places to go during the day and it has to have a beech and have a high probability of sunshine. I found Barcalona to have all these things that I like.

    So has anyone been to places in like this that they would recommend? It dosen't even have to be in Croatia as long as it has the things I desire from a holiday.

    Its a great spot - was there 2 years back. . everythings cheap there (except beer which is the same price as Dublin). . .get your hands ona copy of the Lonely Planet - it gives you ideas etc on the different islands. . .you can go island hopping, either staying over night or just day trips.

    Aer Lingus fly direct to the Dubrovnick a couple of times a week. . .thats who I went with.

    Another Sun destination is Dubai - was there in December - FANTASTIC place.

    Yeah ive been reading a bit about Dubai and it seems a cool place allright. What kind of costs are things such as clubs/beer/accommodation. Id say it would be next to impossible to get some off the lads to travel to anywhere in the middle east but.

    There's been loads of threads and loads of good advice posted before.

    Dubai in the summer isn't good - it's way too warm.

    Croatia is class, and I've no idea where the sheep shagger was paying the same price for beer as in Dublin, because it's about 12 kuna (€1.60 ish) in Dubrovnik, in the most expensive place you can drink.

    Unless he was drinking warm Guinness :confused:
