    Hi all,
First flight for a *long* time next weekend, going to Lanzarote with Futura.
What are their on-board facilities like? I read somewhere they don't offer meals?
And I can't listen to my MP3 player during the flight? :(

    Interested to hear anyone's experiences...

aer lingus hold a big share in them, they are ok as charter airlines go,however dont expect top quality, they give ya sweets fo free but ya pay for the rest, they operate boeing 737s are ya sure its futura unless they leased in a long haul aircraft ya might be life rafting it for a bit:o , i think ireland to lanzarote is out of the 737s range??? they have a website, www.futura-aer.com and you can us mp3s just dont have it too loud, all aircraft can fly when they are in use its just a noise pollution thing ya know passenger comfort

You should not have any problem with Futura.
You will be flying on a Boeing 737-800 and Lanzarote is well within its range!
If you are booked with First Choice then you will get a meal, if its with Budget then food has to be purchased, unless you take your own sandwiches.
The 800's have inflight entertainment, bring your own headphones or buy them on board.
    Enjoy your holiday.

aer lingus hold a big share in them,

Not anymore they don't. They sold off the majority of their stake about 4 years ago.
i think ireland to lanzarote is out of the 737s range???

Ireland to Lanzarote is well within the range of a 737.

It think it depends on the tour operator they are providing the charter for. Some include food, some do not. Common practice nowadays.

I flew with them four years ago.The return flight from Alicante was at 7 am and they served a dinner as the meal ie spuds, chicken, carrots etc. Bit strange but apart from that it was grand.

Haven't flown with them for a couple of years, but you get what you've paid for... Just like with all the charter airlines the tour operaters use.

Seats are slightly cramped, but it's okay for a 4 hour flight. You can use your MP3 player, but you can also use your headphones in the headphone jack to "enjoy" the in-flight entertainment.

I wouldn't be put off by the fact the food now has to be paid for. It was never worth eating when it was free anyway. Have something in the airport before you go.
