my pc is beeping constantly and driving me crazy when trying to play music or use it. it is like beep beep beep beep. continuously. does anyone know how to turn off these sounds. i think it might be something to do with the pc letting me know that the fan is cooloing the cpu. help please. very much appreciated. and it is an elara model pc.

    Uh...

Check in the BIOS for temperature / fan status?
Please tell us the BIOS version.

Yeah it's probably setting off the temperature monitor... there should be an option in the BIOS to change the warning threshold (ie. 50/60 degrees) and/or turn the warning beep off all together.
Check your temperatures though, make sure they're within a safe enough range for your processor before you ignore the warning :p

To access the BIOS settings: Keep tapping F1 as soon as you power the machine on. (If F1 doesn't work. Repeat: Reboot; and tap F2 continuously.)

Yeah definetely Temp problem. DEL is another usual key if the F1 and F2 don't work. Just keep the key pressed second you switch the pc on.

As said above make sure that the temperature isn't to high. I dunno anything over 60 degrees is dangerious?

Shut down the PC, take the cover off the PC, get a desk fan and point it in to the PC, after about 30 minutes of the fan blowing in to the Pc, boot it up, if it's not beeping anymore, you know it's a heat problem.

If the drivers for the sound card are not installed (or corrupt) it can cause this problem.

I thinking he means a beeping as an alert signal from the computer that something is wrong and more than likely it is the heat problem. The new mainboards have this feature.

Take off the side and have a look at the fan. There's a fan on top of the processor - shine a torch at it if it's under your desk and see if it's spinning. Also check the back of the PC - there a fan at the rear of the power supply - see it that's spinning too.

Easiest way to see is to be looking at them when you actually power on the PC. You'll see the fans starting to spin.

If you know how, unmount your cpu fan, and give it a good cleaning. now clean off your cpu die with some pure alcohol. be carefull not to spill it on your motherboard. While your at it, clean out the intake and outtake fans in your pc. just make sure you put them in the right way when your finished. other wise it could be just sucking air in, or just blowing it out, as the prefered method is cold air in from the fromnt, and warm air expelled from the back. It could also mean your cpu is ****ed, or ram, depending on your bios type. ive seen this many times before.

    Best of luck

    Hi,

If you give us a call 01-6251320 and ask for mikhael, don't have to open the PC at all, sounds like the LCD panel on the front reset itself to the default high temp which is very low and thus its beeping. Have you ot an LCD temp gauge on the front?

Unless you tell us what PC and/or what motherboard it is no one can answer this question. Different PC's/Motherboards/Bios's have different beeps for different errors.
