It belongs here or the in the garden section but I'm trying to find out some practicle information on the algae "Dinobyron", i.e. environmental causes, symptoms, effect on pond life esp. fish and of course WTF to do. Have done the searches but to no avail, so any links or the right site is appreciated.

Algae uses up al the oxygen, me thinks. If its in your pond, and you have fish, remove the algae, or get body bags for the fish, to put it bluntly.

Take it out of your pond, and goto your local garden centre to find out do they have any fish-friendly stuff that'll kill it.
