AOEIII Low Ping

    Can somebody help, that would be great.

    Ok, in Age of Empires III, whenever I go Online to play people over the internet, my ping is too low. I just can't get it up!!!

    Its straight red, it makes any online game have lots of lag & sometimes crash!!!. It used to be yellow a few weeks ago but is now completely in the red.

    When playing single player, theres no problem, the computer can easily handle the graphics etc.

    -Im using a broadband connection, with a wireless router
    -I don't have anything unusual running in the background

    Slightly confused brother - I think you mean your ping is too high. Low ping is good, means your packets are reaching the destination faster.

    It could be the server - you might be playing on some sucky American server, but assuming you're playing on a good European server then:

    First step - check your net settings, what kind of broadband connection do you have? Maybe its trying to upload/download too much and your connect is getting flooded.

    Second step if possible - bypass the wireless router. Plug straight into your DSL and see if it fixes it.

    It could be you ISP, could be your PC, could be lots of things. Out of curiosity, do start -> run -> cmd -> 'ping boards.ie' and see what kind of ping times you get to here.
