I have a Pace sky digibox, are they all made by pace? Wondering as the remote is missing and I've seen sky remotes on satellite.ie, I'm assuming they are compatable but I just want to make sure.

Yup, they're all compatible. Most electrical shops sell sky remotes with no reference to pace boxes, panasonics, grundigs, etc.

Originally all made by Philips. You need special code sequence to make any of the three kinds of Sky remote (Sky, Sky+ or Sky Navigator) work with Sky+ or Sky ordinary box or vice versa.

But indeed the make & model of Sky receiver doesn't matter.

No. As above, standard Sky remotes are designed to operate any standard Sky digibox.

    Try new batteries.

OK. Two more things before that sort of action may be necessary. Both courtesy of satcure's brilliant site (http://www.satcure.co.uk/tech/digicode.htm#digibox):

Sky remote won't control Sky Digibox

    (1) To perform a RESET press [TV] and then hold [select] and [red button] together for around two seconds (until the red light blinks twice). Now press 999 (red light blinks once for a long time and then twice quickly).

This changes the TV model code back to default 038 (and, on earlier revisions, clears the macro and deletes any Key Magic changes that you have made).

You can then enter the correct code for your TV set and then set the turn-on channel to the one you want.

    (2) Another reason for digibox not responding to an ordinary remote is if the remote has been configured for Sky+ using select+blue then 2.

The normal 999 reset does not switch the remote back from sky+ to normal digibox operation (you have to use the select+blue then 0 method).

Or it could be the transmitting led in the remote - try looking at the front of the remote through the viewfinder of a camcorder - when you press a button you should see the IR led flashing (its invisible usually)...
