Looking to setup remote desktop

Hey I am looking to set up remote (internet) access between 2 WIN XP computers.

Could anyone tell me the best software or is the XP remote desktop the best.

I want to be able to access friends / clients computers (with permission) not for access to files but to use their system remotely, (may be change windows settings remotely etc)

I believe XP remote desktop only works when accessing a computer with XP PRO.

Since most people I know use XP home edition, anyone know of remote connection software?

    Thanks

EDIT: Just looked through essential software sticky. What about Real VNC? Good?

With Windows XP Pro you can remote desktop into it, but only 1 user only. So its either 1 user on the console, or via RDP

XP Home can remote desktop to another machine just cant accept incoming remote connections AFAIK.

My preference is RDP, but then again it depends do you need the person to see what you are doing or do you need complete control over the system at the time.

Ive tried a lot of the remote control programs....VNC is capable but I get best performance from Remote Administrator 2.2....using it right now on 2 computers as well as a third to watch over and control the main family PC!!!

It workd over the network connection only I think...unlike VNC which like Remote Desktop can work over the internet!

Did a bit of research with friends and was recommended LogMeIn.com.

    Anyone know anything about this?

    Good?

    I probable stated it incorrectly:
    VNC - Network & Internet
    Radmin - etwork only

We use Dameware MRC at work, and I have never had any issues with it.
