    Was trying to book a hotel for my holiers on expedia.co.uk last night. When I got to the payment page I had to enter my billing address. For the drop down country list there was an option for almost every country in the world except Ireland!! I emailed them to ask what the story is and got this reply below. Has anyone ever heard anything like this before? I make hotel bookings on other internet sites (e.g. www.venere.com) all the time with no problems.

    Thank you for your enquiry concerning the restriction to complete bookings on the Expedia.co.uk site when using an originating address within the Republic of Ireland.

    Due to restricting Irish regulations relating to the offering of travel products in and out of the Republic of Ireland, we currently do not accept bookings from customers with a booking address within the Irish Republic. Work is in progress to rectify this situation but in the meantime we regret that we are unable to process your booking at this time.

    It's been raised here before, and the same answer given, although expedia were supposed to be "working on it".

    Yeah stupidity on Expedia's behalf when you think of the revenue lost because of something like this :rolleyes:

    I replied and asked then what the Irish regulations were preventing them selling travel products here and this is the response I got. She says expedia.co.uk don't offer their services to people with a non-UK billing address which is bollix as there is an option for entering a non-UK billing address. They obviously haven't a clue what they're talking about and I'm glad I didn't make a booking with them now.
