    Hi all,

I'm heading up with the gf end of the month.. I wanted to book somewhere in the city itself. The more central the better.

I was looking at booking the Hilton £130(€200ish) a night.
Before I book it I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for somewhere else to stay up in Belfast? Possibly better location or hotel?

    Thanks people,

    Seán

The Hilton is very close to the 'centre', ie city hall, high street shops, and plenty of bars, etc.

As an alternative check out http://www.madisonshotel.com/index.asp

It is cheaper and handy for pubs/restaurants/night life around shaftesbury square and lisburn road/stranmillis - it is the opposite end of the golden mile from the hilton.

The McCausland Hotel would be more central and possibly a whole lot more atmospheric too.

Try the Holiday inn in the city center. Its the most central hotel you will get across from the BBC HQ its a 4 star hotel rates star at £85 per night if you book 14 days in advance. Check out http://www.gotobelfast.com/link_open.cfm?id=http://www.belfast.holiday-inn.com

The Holiday Inn in the City Centre is very handy. . .www.priorityclub.com. . as is the Jurys (www.jurys.com)

If you have a couple of hotels in mind, have a look at their reviews before you book on www.traveladvisor.com

check out the Ten Square hotel, it is just behind city hall. It's not cheap .. but I spent a few nights there a few weeks ago and couldn't rate it higher.

From the moment you walk into reception the service is top drawer. Rooms are fantastic .. I had a room with a stand alone bath .. great with a bottle of bubbly !!

TVs are Bang & Olfusen, proper mini bar .. good resturant (not pretensious), nice bar with live music, check out www.tripadvisor.com there are quite a few reviews on it.

Day's hotel. Its a 5 minute walk from Donegal Square.

Breakfast is an all you can eat buffet if you add that on. Rooms are really nice and spacious.

I've been to Belfast twice in the last 8 months and its where i've stayed both times wouldnt even dream of going anywhere else.

I think its about £110 per night though cant remember to be honest.

Staff are really nice and friendly as are the other residents
