    hey folks
Just wanted to know if anyone had any info about Ibiza. Will be heading out with the hubby and two kids on 16th June for 2 weeks and wanted to know abit more about the place. We are staying in Figeritas (or something sounding like that) and wanted to find out things to do for the family, kids are 13 and 10. Also maybe what to watch out for etc.

Look forward to any info anyone can provide!

    Thanks!

I was out there 2 years ago, didnt really do the clubbing thing. Figuertes is grand, its within walking distance to Ibiza town which is where all the good stuff is, such as nice shops and restaurants.
I'd recommend renting a car, as there are some amazing beaches around the island, such as Benirras and Salinas. The beach in Figuertes is manky by comparison. Dont bother visiting San Antonio. The island is just lovely, and I'd really like to go back some time. Formentera island is worth a day trip also we rented a bicycle there, lots of Italians on scooters around.

Just get out of the British resort areas and you'll have a lovely time.

I've been to Ibiza about 6 or 7 times and a good website for info on the island is www.ibiza-spotlight.com. I've always done the clubbing thing but there is a water park at Playa d'en Bossa which is the next resort along from you. Ibiza Town has loads of great restaurants. Formentera is supposed to be a really good day out (although I have never made it there yet). As the previous poster said hire yourself a car because the island is gorgeous and all the best beaches can be got to by car.

Figueretas is nice although it's not the best beach on the island. There are a lot of 'chicken and chips' touristy type restaurants, which will be fine if that's what you're looking for but there is also a mini fair/market on Saturday nights (at least there was last year) where you can get more local food and browse around the stalls.

As has been mentioned, you'll be very near Ibiza Town so check that out if you can. I haven't been to the water park but I'm sure your kids would love it :) Although, it's right beside one of the main clubs, Space, and near the beach club Bora Bora, so expect to see a few happy clubbers milling around at all hours of the day!
