I see Traxxas are after releasing 2 improved models, jato 3.3 and nitro 4tec 3.3. Jato accelerates 0-60mph in 4.1 seconds, I'd love to see a real car doing that. The 4 tec is the fastest RTR in the world 75+mph:eek: Both are improved more than just the engine. Just thought I'd leave ye know incase of a future investment;)

I'll pit my menace against one!

That 4tec is more powerful than a hpi .25 engine and the weight of a feather. Technicaly it has the power/weight ratio greater than a fighter jet:cool:

I reckon it would leave it for dirt. It has a more powerful engine and a much lighter, slick design. The Jato goes 0-60 in 4.1 seconds, so I wonder what the 4 tec would do, I say about 3.5:cool:

Assuming the wheels don't spin, and it still takes 4.1 seconds ! :-)

I'm not saying it will - it's just that there has to be an upper power limit the chassis/footprint can exploit before traction losses causes extra power to be wasted.
Surely the model must be getting close to the limit by now.

the meance tops out at what, about 71mph? With a slippy body and the right gearing, there's no reason why the 4Tec shouldn't give it a good run for the money!

The 4tec is 4 wheel drive so I dought its not going to loose traction.

    Excellent ! :D
I'm taking my menace out for a bit of a bash later (hopefully) might catch some video of it. It's very very fast tho and it's pretty light, I mean beside the hyper there's a huge weight difference.

That would be class. Anytime I give it full trottle it just goes into a dohnut or takes off leaving no marks except on loose surfaces:( Do ye ever try holding the monster truck and give it full trottle on gravel? Last time I did it I got a rock on my mouth full force:o

No - but I started a glowfuel engine race boat in the bath once ....... sorta imagine emptying the bath in a couple of seconds by moving half the water over onto the wall! :p

    LOL !
    That'll learn ye!
    *edit*
If I open the throttle fully from a standing position on tarmac the Menace sometimes spins a bit. It has some feckin' take off speed tho! ran a tank through it earlier and it surprised me how fast she takes off.
Ok that new Traxxas model is an on road touring car, so it's hard to compare it to the Menace tbh.
