Creative Zen Micro Freezing

I bought a Creative Zen micro a short while back and am generally happy with it.
Since day one it has a tendency to 'freeze' totally in the start up mode.
All functions then are locked and to turn it off I have to remove the battery.
This leads to it going into a mode of 're-building library' and I am unable to use the unit until I redock it to my P.C.

    Am I doing something wrong?
Is this common to this product?
Did I happen to get a duff machine?

All help would be much appreciated...

    Thanks.

I have a zen micro too and the same thing happens it, however, i usually don't have to dock it on the computer to rectify it. It usually sorts itself out after about a minute. I love my creative zen but that point annoys me.
I'm not sure if it's a software problem or something else.

I bought the Zen Micro in January 2005. I have had to have it replaced 3 times since then. Thankfully I live pretty close to Creative Ireland so it wasn't a huge deal, but it was EXTREMELY irritating!

I did lots of research on the net while experiencing problems with it and yeah the problem you're having is extremely common in the Zen Micro. I had it too. I had to send it back. Luckily Creative are very helpful and extremely leniant and efficient when it comes to replacing the player. Just ring them up and they'll sort it for you pretty much hassle-free. There's a 12-month guarantee on it as far as I can remember!

The only downside is the time you don't have your player while being replaced but you'll survive! Also it means having to re-load all your music back onto it!

Another problem you're likely to come across is the headphone jack will become slightly loose and it will affect the music in that it'll sound like a cd that constantly skips. Loads of people including me have experienced this too, personally I had this problem on two of the 4 players I've had and I had to send them both back to be replaced. To avoid this I'd recommend buying the in-line remote control. Creative eventually gave me one for free.

Despite all those problems I personally love the Zen Micro coz it's so user friendly and it looks good too! And as long as you can avoid the aforementioned problems you shouldn't have any other difficulties with it.

Other than that visit the creative mp3 forums: http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/board?board.id=dap Here you can discuss all your Zen Micro problems with other users around the world and it's great for finding solutions to your problems!

    Good luck!

The first one I got did that. But I returned it and the second one I got was perfect.
