Buggy or Truck? 2WD or 4WD? Sooo many options and so much potential to ruin a perfectly good engine before the wheels even get to turn in anger.

    T-Maxx? HPI Nitro Rush? A.n.other?

what sort of budget have you got

The ultimate question I suppose. Circa €400 all in (fuel, rc kit etc).

If you get another E50 you could get a T-maxx. You could get a Jato alright which is a rocket 55mph+ and its offroad, but then again its 2 wheel drive and smaller than a monster truck. Monster trucks a deadly for going through just about anything due to the large ground clearence and 4 wheel drive. Your better off going for a monster truck because your not really limited to anything.
Ps dont go for anything crap or something you never heard of, go for good manufactors e.g. Hpi, Traxxas etc. Also get them at Towerhobbies.com, keeps the cost down;)

Carson Stormracer 2 with the new engine.
Stormracer with old body & CS engine
Stormracer with the new body shell and the CR 2006 engine inside
For the price it is a very hot offroader :D

Some of the guys here on boards have them and can confirm how they run.

The new summer 2006 version Stormracers just arrived in Ireland Green Hobby & Model, in Dublin last Friday.

EDIT: Uh Oh the link to the new ones seems to be bad no matter how I amend it.....I'll take a photo & post it later.

I was thinking - why take just one pic when you can take lots :)

Actually - It's a coincidence ... I was asked by Green Hobby & Model earlier today to photograph it for their Stormracer & Specter website update :D

I reckon my visit to Green Models prompted the update :) Had a chat about the options this afternoon ... A bit of thinking is required on my part ... Stormracer looks like the best option.

Have to say though, the guys really know their stuff. Good to know a newbie would have somewhere to turn when the inevitable engine "overhaul" is required.

Its no fun running these things while standing in a field on your own. Is there much of a gathering in and around Dublin?

Actually come to think of it the Specter was the one that caught my eye. 1/8 is a whole lot bigger than the 1/10 (do I hear a duh!). Surprisingly different actually. Prices not too bad but my €400 self imposed limit will pushed above and beyond.
