ok so i have some random shot from various places do you guys just post them on the thread for all to see or is there a gallery to go to ? most of my pics are in jpeg and too big to post in a thread.

Seriously though - there are lots of places that let you setup a free online gallery - usually if you pay for the subscription you get extra features/less ads but the basic free package is worth while. Also if there massive files you can always reduce the resolution using any photo-manipulation package like paintshop pro or photoshop elements or whatever.

Saw your pics earlier btw chitywest, loved that first one. But I'm not signing up to deviant just so I can leave you comments!!!

gstones, photobucket is handy but a) it will resize your pictures and not let you keep the large size as is, and b) there's no facility for anyone to leave comments, or any groups to join, or anything like that.

I like flickr because it's a whole other community with groups and discussions and stuff, and it's really, really easy to use once you get into it. My main problem with deviantart is the slowness, and the fact that it has three viewing sizes - "tiny useless thumbnail" size, "slightly larger but not big enough to tell if it's actually sharp" size, and then "far too big to fit on your screen all at once if you don't have a 22" monitor" size If they had a 600-800px longest side size then I'd consider joining up....

Thats basically the reason why I prefer dev art !

They dont resize anything. The images are exactly as uploaded by whoever made them.

If you click on "All sizes" in Flickr you can see the image exactly as whoever made them uploaded them as well So that's no excuse...

So, if people are going to use dev art they should learn to upload something that's 700-800px longest side and make life easier for the rest of us

I have an account on all of 'em...Flickr wins.

I used be a big Photobucket fan...but meh...Flickr is much more involved for the reasons above. Deviant Art is just a load of poo.

In fact, I should put a picture of poo up there.

i might have just started wwIII here. i setup photo bucket for peops to sent/put up pics of my wedding so we can access all of them. if photo bucket is not the best then i need to know which i should sign up for .
ease of use, speed and features are the main issues.

so lets agree on one and say it together or is photobucket ok ?

if you just want somewhere that you can put pictures and point friends and family to easily, photobucket will do the job just fine... don't mind us lot

I have a photobucket account that I haven't used in ages, if it's just for linking people to pictures, Photobucket is grand. Think it does slide shows now too!
