    Say a guy goes to court he gets Probation Act. He then goes back to court solicitor tells him he has no criminal record can he go for any job he wants?

    Yes you can APPLY for any job you want. No law against applying.

    certain jobs look beyong pure criminal convictions however and working within the justice system requires background checks which could have you rejected purely on being arrested. For the Gardai a criminal conviction or being arrested even within the immiediate family can block your application.
