heading to thailand for 6-8wks and i'm trying to figure out how much money i need ? not planning on living the high life or anything, mainly just on the beer with a mate. anyone help us out please ????

hey,

was there last summer for 5 weeks and spent about 1400 euro. that was sometimes splashing out on nice food and accommodation and sometimes not.

basically, if you look at bringing 300 euro for each week spent there you will be very comfortable. bear in mind, though you say you don't want to live it up too much, there will be occasions where you'll see something and want to buy it. especially clothes and shoes on the khao san road in bangkok.

300 a week would be more than comfortable. but if you can't afford that, 200 would be grand too. if that makes sense...:)
