Running with Pins in leg?

Just wondering what type of damage could occur [if any] in a person engaged in an impact sport like long distance running if they had a procedure following a compound fracture. I think they generally insert pins or what may be called a nail in to the tiba [spelling]. You know the type I mean, it may [or not] be fixed with some screws at the knee and the ankle. Just a general question:confused:

sometimes they leave the locking screws insitu-these often break with prolonged pressure but rarely cause problems-( until you try to remove them) you should be discussing this with your orthopaedic surgeon- especially seeing as your fracture was compound- he may decide to remove the locking screws.

This is something which should be discussed with an orthopaedic surgeon who can comment specifically on your case, there are a great number of different fractures and means of correcting them.
