Pissed off over here, I swear to god!

WHY DO DRUMMERS HAVE TO BE SO ****IN' COMPLICATED?!!

Band was going pretty well, getting on great, tight as ****, demo recorded, ready to send out cds all over that place... Next thing you know he turns around and says he's not getting a buzz out of rock n roll and wants to commit to his family.

what the f*ck is that all about?

    AAAAAARRRGGGHH!!!

GET ME A DRUMMER QUICK!! Someone who knows what the **** he/she wants.

We've got gigs lined up. Need someone asap.

I dont mind if you live in waterford as long as you can come up to Dublin twice a week for rehearsals, that you are available to play gigs in, around and outside Dublin even at short notice. THAT is what I call dedication.

    Are you ready for this?

Those tunes are class Lauren. Good luck getting a drummer. Although with that kind of material you don't need any. :)

    What?!?

Your stuff is great Lauren, if I was ten years younger and far less bitter, I put myself up for the job. I've been playing for about 25 years now.

There's a touch of early Souixee and the Banshees about yer stuff. I like it. You definately need a 'Budgie' style drummer for your music.

One small nit-pickey thing - and it's not your fault - the dynamics of the two tracks on your site are very, very, very flat. Who mixed them, and on what?

    What?!?

Dude I ment she wouldn't need any luck in getting a drummer. As they are two solid songs that would be fun for a drummer to play.
    :)

not really fair to drummers there Spicy, you dont exactly make it sound very welcoming to drum for you!

Good songs. Where so you guys practice?

Thanks for the replies guys, very encouraging.
I'm away on holidays for the next 2 weeks and checking the internet is costing me a fortune (6 quid an hour would you believe????)
Anyway drummers, send me PMs if ye's are interested.

We used to jam in Crumlin with the old drummer but the room is gone with him so i'm thinking Blackpitts by St Pats cathedral unless ye have a better idea, or even your own room to rehearse.

I might also point out that only dedicated drummers need apply.
Someone with drive, energy, plenty of confidence and fun to be around.
    Am i asking too much?

    Lauren

That's why I said it's a pitty. Waterford to Dublin is a fair trip on any given day, let alone twice a week and to gig on short notice.

Possibly, you're 'trading' under your own name. Fair enough. But this set up mightn't interest drummers looking to make it in a band.

To be fair to Lauren, DublinWriter. She has been looking for a name for the band but hasn't found one yet. From what I've found out from meeting her and seeing her play, she doesn't come across as a "one member in this band" kinda gal. It's just that jump from playing solo gigs to full band gigs is a big one.

It's not such a bad thing - many 'bands' are just one person - The The, The Divine Comedy, Scritti Politi, etc etc.

But to someone new coming in, it would kinda look like you'd be an unpaid member of a backing band.

In fairness DublinWriter money is not an issue, I take music very seriously and would rather be a member of a backing band that has good songs, than a main part of a joke band. If any musician expects to enter an established act and become the center stage attraction, they're dillusional.

I would be very interested in this, if we could figure out a pratice location that took me less than 2 hours to get to.
