Always get worried about vandalism when I see stuff like that.

Just as likely to be a natural fire...

Well the firebrigade where up there.. scumbags couldn't have caused it as u'd have to have walke nearly a mile to get to the fire.. Looked quite controlled, was a near perfect straight line across the mtns.. There was about 6 fires in total, this was the biggest..

Is it not very probable that it was just farmers burning heather?

Probably, but depending on where it is and more importantly when, it might still be illegal. There are regulations concerning the burning off of heather / gorse / bracken but many farmers ignore them. I'm pretty sure that June is outside of the allowed time window.

    Nice pictures though :)
