No idea really. I'd have to play a demo of QW first to see what it's like. I've seen the gameplay videos from though E3 and it does look pretty good.

    Isn't 2142 just a mod for BF2 i.e. using the same engine?

EDIT: Actually I'll buy neither. I tend to not like futuristic-based games all that much.

Future/Past really doesnt matter its the game play that counts. After the terrible job EA has done with BF2 I cant see ET:QW being any worse can you?

i'll end up getting both, but right now ET:QW has me more interested then 2142. having said that, 2142 looks fantastic, but i've a lot of distrust and distain for EA/DICE because (imo) they've really managed to cock up bf2

have a look vid loads on main page. Original ET introduced classes with a point ie medic healed, captain called airstrikes, engineers made stuff but that was a canned game that Activision felt wouldnt sell, it was released for free and obviously everyone loved it required one patch and the source was released with it. Bear in mind it was free and it was free oh did i mention it was free?

The same Dev(ex crack quake 3 mod team who formed dev company, i interviewed them years ago for another website) team were then hired to make ET but based on doom 3 engine (MEGATEXTURERERERERERER) but this time sell it (they were meant to sell last one but wasnt good enough seemingly). The video above is meant to be ingame footage of the modified doom 3 engine.

http://www.quakewarscenter.com fan site with decent ABOUT section of classes and vehicles and weapons and gameplay styles.

    Release Date: When it's done
