[Request] Reputable online camcorder retailer

Im thinking of buying a Panasonic GS 280 or GS 300 camcorder and, having read some negative feedback about pixmania, am looking for a reliable online retailer (Komplett don't stock this model. )

I'm not taking chances with an eBay or US retailer. I found some UK sellers with good reviews eg shopping4cameras.com but with no delivery options outside UK

Can anybody recommend somebody in UK/europe with good aftersales service and .ie delivery?

Never dealt with them before so I can't really recommend them but they see to have a good selection of stuff and they do deliver to Ireland.
BTW, you're right to be wary of Pixmania.

I too was wary of Pixmania having read the posts here but having been f**ked about by Amazon and Komplett coming in at €40 dearer for the same item (a camcorder) I bit the bullet, took a chance and hey, no problem whatsoever. In fact the item was delivered in only 4 days from order. You take your chances with any online retailer, I reckon.

I bought a camera from Technikdirekt.de about three months ago. A charger was missing from the package but after a phonecall the replacement was sent out immediately.

I pay by credit card, the first time you order they will ask you to send a scan of a drivers license ect. for proof of address. Most places seem to do that now though.

Delivery charge is €22, unless you're getting large items (TVs) when it's €80

I've never heard anything said against thier reliability and know of quite a few people who buy a fair amount of expensive gear through them

Thanks to all who replied. I hadn't heard of http://www.technikdirekt.de/. They have a very keen price on the panasonic, but unfortunately currently out of stock. I may wait around for it, but am also looking at a few other models

    Thanks again
    :)
