Deep Stack Play in Ring Games

I was wondering if anybody had any tips on deep stacked play in ring games or if they new any good articles or books dealing with the topic because I absolutely suck at it!

I was looking at my PT stats there, at the hands where I've lost the most BBs, and the majority are ones where I have a good be not great made hand and overplay it. It's usually around the turn or river where I start to think that I could be behind but still pay him off fully thinking I'm getting reasonable odds and only have to be ahead about 30/40% of the time for it to be profitable.

Only about 4 of the 30 or so hands where Ive lost over 60bbs were bad beats, and it's the rest of the hands that are killing my br. I've just won 36 pots of this size. How does this compare with the rest of you?

I'm going to go over the hands thoroughly in the next few days but just wanted to post here first to see if there might be any basic errors that I'm making that aren't really hand specific.

Is there a quick way to look at the biggest pots you have won and lost?

It sounds like you need to improve your hand reading (or go with your reads more) and fold if you think you are beaten.

Yeah, just select the Game Notes tap and hit Get All. Then press the Net or BB header, whichever you want.

Your probably right, I usually play browsing the internet and use PT stats to guide me.

Probably you should fold more on the turn, sometimes it looks like you only need to win the pot 30% of the time but in fact you may be faced with another big bet on the river.

Sometimes I feel like I'm not sure enough that I'm behind for a fold to be correct. But then nothing sends me tilting quicker than when I throw away 4hrs work on one hand.

Just one more question: Should you change the way you play when you have +150bbs in front of you compared to when you have just 70-100? Not just in starting hand requirements and pre-flop play, but also on the flop, turn and river?

Not really - its far too broad a question. Basically every decision you make at any stage in a hand is going to depend on how many chips the player have left.I wouldnt really know where to start.

Post some hands your not happy with

I thought as much. Most of the mistakes are glaringly obvious when I gave them a quick look over but there's one situation that gets me in lots of trouble. I'll outflop the villain, only to have a danger card (like an A making his possible TPTK into a better 2 pair or when the flop is like ATx and I hold AT and put him on A >T and A >T) falls on the turn. I know he's going to bet and possibly re-raise whether it helped him or not and so I'm left clueless as to what to do. I'll try and sort out the HHs in the next week.

Pot limit and No limit poker by Ciaffone and Reuben has a few rules of thumb for adjusting to stack sizes and position. I seem to remember HJ recommending that book on this forum before.
