The question about Channel 4 has come up quite a lot here. Same answer! There are no plans at present for Channel 4 to become FTA.

I haven't heard of any other channels either becoming FTA or FTV.

Film 4 might be going on a UK FTV card in July.

Almost certianlly there will be more FTA dialin rip off channels.

On the flipside, MYOB has told me that Extreme Sports, a channel that has been FTA since launch some years ago, has encrypted.

Channel 4 has a contract with $ky until 2008 so little chance of it going FTA before then.

Although provided they can get transponder space on 2D there is little reason for them to continue encrypting thereafter
