Would something like that P5B being worth someones while restoring. They dont go for huge money in A1 nick, I suppose it would have to be a labour of love.

the green car is an upmarket version of the Austin 1100, possibly an MG, Vanden Plas, Wolseley or Riley. wouldn't have a supercharger as standard but there was an Shorrock supercharger aftermarket kit available in the 60s for the A-series engine, valuable item today

Pity to see the sprint rotting away like that. I loved scrap yards too but the council here have cracked the whip with all the scrap yards to clean up their act and many fine classics have been crushed.:(

Cyprus is the place for classic car scrap yards - obviously most are heavily sun damaged but a great place to source parts.

Btw if anyone sees or knows of any alfasud headlamps I would like to know. The lamps on the later sprints won't do as the glass is flat - I need the curved glass headlamps - with obviously no rust on the chrome reflector.

On that subject does anyone know if its possible to get headlamp backings rechromed?;)

    Hi Guys,
a mate has just had a look at it for me, there is no supercharger as far as he can tell (he's a watchmaker, not a mechanic!) but he's sending me on a couple of pics to confirm. I've (in the past 5 minutes) forgotten what model the car is, it's either a Wolseley or a Reilly. Suspension has depresurised and it sounds like one of the steering joints has also gone.
    Keep well,
    Torq.

Quick update. My mate spoke to the guy selling it, the supercharger was removed before he got it. It has a set of 13inch (1 inch too big) minilites and he's looking for €1200 for it, which is way over the odds in my view. Oh yea, thats not a shadow on the bonnet, it's a big hole for an air scoop.

Whats his game? He's just letting them rot rather than let them go to somebody who would love to restore them?

I know, unreal. He's recently added one, some sort of imported 70's Opel estate. I saw it on the way up and it was gone when I was coming home, so unlike the thers, it's mobile. He's got an old p-4 I think.

i was up that way to day & got talking to the fella that owns those cars,
hes not going to sell any says hes going to put them all in a shed
theirs about 5 opel reckords+ a very rare 2dr 69 reckord & what looks like an v8 opel diplomat .
that red estate is an ascona 1.9 in very good nick he just bought in england.
he also has an early 2dr ascona looks like it was used in a rally a long while ago.
some could be done up maybe but it wouldent be for the faint hearted:rolleyes:
